Summer 2010 Newsletter "May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be wtih you all. Amen." II Corinthians 13:14 Family Update Older daughter Heidi just learned a few days ago that she has been accepted into the Master’s program at NYU and will be busier than ever, as husband Ryan continues in his Ph. D. program at Yale. Younger daughter Lisa continues to enjoy her work at the Braille Institute of America in L.A. Tammy and I continue to enjoy our long morning walks and working out together. May '10 Ministry Visits May began with worship services at Grace Family Fellowship in Toledo OH and New Life Church in South Lyon MI, in addition to concerts at Toledo’s Oakleaf Retirement Community and Springvale Academy in Owosso MI. Then it was great to be home to celebrate Mother’s Day with Tammy, her mother and daughter Lisa, as well as serve the Orange County congregation of GCI meeting in a restaurant! As a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Pasadena, I was able to provide music for a fundraising event for many worthwhile area charities, in Pasadena’s world-famous Rose Bowl, and Tammy and I, along with dear friends Martha Williamson and Jon Andersen, sang various popular selections. The next weekend took me to serve at Christian Fellowship Church in Kenosha WI and their sister congregation in north Chicago, as well as a second concert at St. Catherine’s Commons in Kenosha. May ended with the joyous celebration of the wedding of Jennifer Affeldt, a former student of mine, to Michael Giddens – Tammy and I caught up with many long-time friends and former students. In May, we also celebrated our 32nd anniversary! June '10 Ministry Visits A visit to Boston enabled my second time as a guest speaker and worship leader for the Bethel Church of God 7th Day, my third concert at Coolidge Nursing Home, and leading worship services at both Grace Family Church in West Warwick RI and Community Church of Providence RI, whose pastor, my dear friend, Evan Howard, recently published a brand new novel called “The Galilean Secret.” The next weekend was back in the Northeast for my 9th reunion concert at Williams College in Williamstown MA with Martha Williamson and friends! The following day I was able to visit once again Sonlight Christian Fellowship in Loudon NH. Next came a visit to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where I was able to serve once again at Grace Christian Fellowship and People’s Church, as well as give a concert at Caleb Manor Christian Retirement Village. Then, Tammy and I enjoyed participating in an Ambassador College Reunion in Monrovia CA, about a five-minute drive from home, and catching up with lots of folks, many of whom we hadn’t seen in a couple of decades! We all agreed we still look the same!?
